Multiple Chinese car brands debut at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK

　　From July 11 to 14, the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK, the most prestigious, glamorous and informative car gathering in the world, was held as scheduled. Several Chinese car companies took the stage at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed.

　　MG HS

　　The new MG HS made its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The car is based on the domestic Roewe RX5 and has been redesigned to suit the needs of the European market. It is powered by both petrol and plug-in, priced in the UK from ￡24,995 petrol and ￡31,495 plug-in.　

　　The new MG HS features the latest large mouth grille design, and the air intake in the lower enclosure and fog lamp area also adds to its sense of movement. The headlights of the new MG HS are more slender, and the daytime running lights are cleverly integrated with chrome decoration.

　　The side shape is also sporty, with a silver trim line extending from the A-pillar to the roof, with five-spoke rims. The rear is equipped with a through taillight, the bottom bumper is equipped with a two-sided exhaust, and there is a silver anti-friction spoiler decoration. Compared with the old model, the new HS is 26mm longer, 14mm wider to 1890mm, and the wheelbase is lengthened by 30mm to 2750mm.

　　In terms of interior, it has different versions such as SE and Trophy overseas. The SE version comes standard with dual 12.3-inch screens, and supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Wireless charging and 360-degree panoramic images also appear on the car. In addition, fog lights, electric adjustment/heating of exterior rearview mirrors, 6-way electric adjustment of the main driver, and 8 speakers also appear on the car. Its trunk has also been increased by 44L to 507L.

　　In terms of power, the new MG HS gasoline version is still equipped with a 1.5T engine, with a slightly improved power output compared to the old model. The maximum power is 170 horsepower, the peak torque is 275N · m, and the car’s 0-100km/h acceleration score is 9.4 seconds. The drivetrain is matched with a 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The plug-in version is equipped with a hybrid system composed of a 1.5T engine and an electric motor. The maximum power of the engine is 144 horsepower, the maximum power of the electric motor is 209 horsepower, and it is equipped with a 24.7 kWh battery pack. The pure electric battery life is 121km. The 0-100km/h acceleration score of this car is 6.8 seconds.

　　MG MG Cyber GTS

　　The MG Cyber GTS Concept is a hard-top version of the MG Cyberster with a four-seat layout and is expected to go on sale in 2025. Previously, the car was only available in a soft-top convertible two-seat version.　

　　The front face of the MG Cyber GTS concept car is still the same as the soft-top convertible version, paying more attention to the aerodynamic design. The shape of the entire front enclosure is quite exaggerated, and the front lip is very long, allowing airflow to flow to the diversion areas on both sides.

　　The body adopts a two-door hardtop design, which has a more streamlined body line than the convertible version. Large-sized rims with red calipers are quite sporty. At the rear of the vehicle, the shape of the large back is very dynamic, and the deep diversion groove is borrowed from the design of the supercar model.

　　In terms of power, refer to the convertible version, there are single-motor high-power versions and dual-motor versions. The single-motor version is equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor on the rear axle, and the maximum power of the low-power version is 231 kilowatts; the maximum power of the high-power version is 250 kilowatts; the dual-motor version is equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor on the front axle, with a maximum power of 150 kilowatts. The rear axle is also equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor, with a maximum power of 250 kilowatts. The battery capacity is 64kWh and 77kWh respectively, and the corresponding cruising range is 501km, 520km and 580km respectively. It is reported that its 0-100km/h acceleration time is 3.2 seconds at the shortest. 　　MG4 & MG5

　　The MG4 is currently on sale in China. This car is not a single-market model only for China. The vehicle shape is jointly developed by SAIC Motor Group’s Chinese and British teams. In addition to the Chinese market, it also needs to meet the needs of users in Europe and more countries. The MG4 provides two layouts of rear single motor and front and rear dual motors, of which single motor provides 125kW and 150kW power; the dual-motor version has a maximum power of 315kW and a peak torque of 600N · m. Its 0-100km/h acceleration takes only 3.8 seconds.

　　The domestic equivalent of the MG5 is the Roewe Ei5, which is special in that it is a station wagon. In recent years, the station wagon market has also begun to heat up, and more and more manufacturers are also eyeing this market segment. 　　BYD SEAL U DM-i (domestic corresponding to Song PLUS Honor Edition DM-i)
